Hyundai BLUE-WILL: Plug-in Hybrid

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and for Hyundai engineers, they can see beauty even in the agape mouths of filter-feeding baleen whales. Their latest concept, the BLUE-WILL, is a plug-in hybrid with a standard 1.6 liter gasoline engine coupled with a 100 kilowatt electric motor. The environment has been the central focus of car manufacturers and Hyundai makes sure that the majority of the materials used for the BLUE-WILL are not only recyclable but eco-friendly as well. The headlamp bezels are made from recycled plastic bottles while the bonnet and some of the panels are made of plant-based plastics that are biodegradable. The electric motor is powered by lithium-ion polymer batteries that could also be charged via the translucent solar panels on the roof. Great concept but should you drive these in the future, watch for the harpoons!

Aston Martin Lagonda Concept

When we first heard the revival of the luxury brand Lagonda, we first imagined a big, classy exotic sedan that would really turn heads. The last thing on our minds was an SUV; whatever features it had! The press release from Aston Martin said that their intention is to enter the market with a ‘unique performance avant-garde luxury product.’ Is this a direct competition to Porsche? Unique as it may seem but it’s not the first type to be released under the same concept but oh what the heck it’s a great car… SUV in this case!

BMW Lo Rider Concept

As a tradition, the BMW Motorrad always comes up with new ways and ideas on motorcycling, enhancing its latest futuristic concept. This year, the BMW Lo Rider was conceptualized, having a sporty and muscular roadster look. With its low weight, powerful and high torque flat twin engine, and high-quality chassis technology, the BMW Lo Rider gives you sporty riding dynamics. The concept bike has the combination of current technology with the modern and classic stylistic elements and can be individually combined with your personal taste and style.

Cadillac Converj: Sporty Concept

Planning ahead and seeing the future is one of the best marketing strategies. Given a concept, General Motors showed up its sexy coupe equipped with the Chevy Volt technology. The Cadillac Converj is powered by a 16 kW set of lithium-ion batteries with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine for recharging purposes only. Yet, the concept raised an issue: 2-door or 4-door? Since 2-door models are tough to sell, GM has the option of making a 4-door version of the Converj concept for production.
