I’ve found myself thinking about post quality a lot lately. I always hear guys say stuff like, “The old H.A.M.B. was so much better,” and frankly, it gives me a bit of a chuckle. See, most of these guys weren’t around to even know that the “old” H.A.M.B. was actually quite a bit less focused. Don’t get me wrong, the forum has always been a great place to study and learn, but ten years ago it was also a great place to get lost in off-topic nonsense, flaming, and things of that nature. I know. I was there.
In any case, all of this ended with me thinking about the posts that I really value and appreciate. Two recent examples came to mind. One was a reply to the article we did last week on McFly’s roadster. His pops saw the article, puffed out his chest, and blurted out his pride for his son. Things like that always crush me.
The second was a post made last night by a guy that had just finished his first roadster after using the H.A.M.B. to gain the knowledge necessary to build it. That’s the golden egg right there gentlemen… That’s what it’s all about and that’s why we are here.
And while I’m at it, thank you fellas… for creating the best automotive magazine in the entire world.
